CAMP

Leading the Way in Teaching People to Care

paper heART and OPEF Base Camp!

How can you use art as a catalyst for change? Join the paper HeART experience to explore the intersection of art and social justice. Through field trips and guest speakers, see first hand how artists bring awareness to human rights, politics, and social responsibility. Discover new ways to express yourself through visual arts, photography and digital storytelling. Learn about the history of social movements, then choose an issue that matters to you to research and create an art piece inspired by the change you want to see in the world.

Camp will end with a fundraising exhibit organized by students and showcasing student work.

Lunch supervision is included with this camp. You may register for multiple sessions; you can chose a different project each week.

Testimonials:
“I learned that you shouldn't verbally abuse someone by saying their stupid or ugly cause that hurts them, it leaves a scar but you can't see it. I also learned that everyone has feelings some are more sensitive then others and some aren't. So you should treat everyone the way you want to be treated.” –Lillian, Age 11

“That you should be thankful for what you have.” –Leonard, Age 11

“The most important thing I have learned from the project was that everyone has feelings too and the world is not a 'you' world, but an everyone world of different varieties of people and if anyone has a struggle we should help them as much as we can.” –Lilly, Age 11
